Sean Clifton joined Wincanton as Fleet Director in 2024. His role encompasses engineering policy across road vehicles, new vehicle specification, road-going legal compliance and is a stakeholder in both Health & Safety and driver training policy development.

He is also leading Wincanton’s fleet decarbonisation strategy which start with the installation of nine hypercharge stations across the UK and the deployment of battery electric tractor units for some of Wincanton’s key customers.

Sean has an extensive background in fleet management and joined Wincanton from Asda, where he spent 12 years as Senior Manager – National Fleets and was responsible for the procurement and management of over 8,000 assets, fuel distribution management, and safety and compliance.

He has also worked in transport operations, managing distribution and home delivery customers at DHL Supply Chain, and has held a variety of roles at organisations including MFI and Walkers Snack Foods.
